KickOff.com reader and long-time Kaizer Chiefs fan Andy Ramokoka makes a passionate plea with Kaizer Motaung to get the house in order at Naturena and restore the glory days.
I have been a Kaizer Chiefs supporter since birth and love this team with all my heart. Chiefs are one of the biggest teams in SA, but I must admit, they have now become an average team – no longer one of the ‘big teams’ that always strengthens their squad with quality players.
I have so many cases that I can refer to, but I will not go there because it’s heart-breaking. What I want to say is very simply is that Bobby Motaung, your son, is very arrogant and does not have negotiation skills to run a soccer club. He has taken Chiefs 1 000 steps back.
Chiefs used be up there and the rest would follow, but now Chiefs are playing catch-up. For me Chiefs are no longer an ambitious team; I have started to believe that they have no financial muscle.
So many players in the PSL are expressing their desire to play for Chiefs, but they end playing for our rivals simply because we can’t negotiate or even buy them.
How long are we going to depend on Zimbabwean players? No offence to them, they are good players, but what do they bring to Chiefs that a South African-born can’t? And then some players from Zimbabwe with exceptional talent like Nengomasha was thrown out like a used condom.
Keagan Dolly, Thabo Qalinge, Sangweni, Erasmus … the list is endless. These are good South African players that could have been playing for Chiefs had it not been for ‘Bobsteak’.

I am appealing to you Mr Kaizer Sr to please, please remove Bobsteak from that position. Get someone who knows Chiefs , bobsteak is making chiefs a business (well he said it before, so he’s now confirming his saying),
The reason Chiefs supporters had love and peace was because Chiefs were big, Chiefs were winning, Chiefs were the best. Now Chiefs are average.
I would like to tell you Mr Kaizer Snr that you have lost a supporter, a Khosi in me. I will continue to love Chiefs, but I will not support it until Bobby is out!!!
THIS IS THE PERFECT RESPONSE:
Dear former Kaizer Chiefs fan Andy Ramokoka,
I’m happy that you have unquestionable put your support on hold till Bobby is out , wish is like waiting for Streetwise 2 @ Builders Warehouse bhutiza .
This is the kind is support we don’t really need in our team because it is unhelpful and puzzling . You have mixed facts with feelings which really just weaken your open letter .
I don’t like judging ppl but to be honest I just feel your open letter is inspired by Qalinge going to our neighbour instead of Kaizer Chiefs or losing in the Carling Black Label Cup in the penalty shootout .
This is just football and it happens all over the world , Kaizer Motaung Srn won’t really take you earnestly if you post such things . Calling a Kaizer Chiefs an average team , you must be really smoking something really bad for you to come up with that statement . You talk about the team that won 2012/13 League and Nedbank , a team that finished 2nd position last season …..is that average to you ? Cum’on Andy ….
To be honest I’m glad Bobby didn’t sign these players …who are all programmed by their “agents and clubs” to publicly use Kaizer Chiefs name to increase their price then join other teams . This is a business and there is always vultures waiting for every single bone lying around here. Dolly joining Sundowns, Qalingejoining Pirates ,Gymah joining Aces is a good thing as it improves competition and reinforces our league , also gives other small teams like Chippa, Aces a chances to attracts sponsorship. I admirer EPL because it’s interesting and exciting league as you don’t know who’s gonna clinch the title ,unlike in La Liga where we all know that it’s always a 2 horse race ….even though Atletico stepped up their game last season .
I refuse to believe that for the reason that Qalinge joined Pirates now Kaizer Chiefs is average, not even my 4yr old boy can reason like that bhutiza . My point is stop been emotionally . Take a deep breath ,take a walk or eat steak or something maan to calm your nerves . We always complain and criticized Kaizer Chiefs that is buying and buying BUT not developing their own talent , in the past 12 months Kaizer Chiefs have promoted a handful of players from their development. The Motsweni’s ,Gordinho,Matombo,Macheke and Ekstein. This is a good indication that the team is in a good direction. What we need now is to give our team a backing and emphasise Baxter to field these youngsters now. That’s what we should be doing ….
I think we need a winger , someone that would share the load with Shabba especially now since he’s injured . I’m thinking and hoping Kaizer Chiefs is aware about that , perhaps it’s time we give these 2 lads(Ovidy Karuru and Phakamani Mngadi ) a chance . This is the beginning and we haven’t even kicked the ball and some of Kaizer Chiefs members are already pressing panic buttons. I think we have a formidable team that stands a great chance to win trophies ….if our coach Stuart Baxter can use his tactics impeccably .
Wishing Parker,Musona,Shabba a speedy recovery.
