Larry Heard, a true Legend, upfront as ever! The Deephousemafia had the chance to speak with him about his new album, the beginning of house, his musical influences and his opinion on todays dancemusic scene!


After all the legendary productions under the Mr. Fingers and Fingers Inc alias with Robert Owens, when did you first realize that your outstanding productions and releases would have so much impact on the House Music movement?
hm, well, I guess at the beginning of that it was really hard to know what to think of or what was going to happen, cause it was all very new, right there, but there were people that started to say that music I was doing was inspiring them. That's when you kind of start to see that something more significant is happening, cause first of all, you start off hoping that someone even pays attention to what you're doing. When that happens, it's a good feeling. When people say you inspire them and motivated them to start doing records as well, that just up you a notch, ya know!! It's just great, but I had no way of knowing before hand, cause nobody can predict that that's going to happen. You just hope that people enjoy your music ...
