SsupP guys, any1 in the Northgate area of Johannesburg prepared to share with me the 6 most recent shows?? Recessions hittin the downloads and a brother needs their DSOH fix..

Apparently it is server's fault and it would have been better if we donate more money so the download is smoother and complete. From 200-300 were no problems but now in the 300 onwards there are some... sudden problems))

Dont get it twisted, there were times during episodes 200 to 300 when we experienced download problems. From a tech perspective, there more ppl downloading frm a server, the more strain its under. How many ppl have u told abt DSOH that are now avid listeners. I myself have got easily more than 10 hooked. Server costs arent a joke, we should do what we can to chip in bro, not look for 'irregularities'..

thing is that the downloads time out if they take too long.

in many cases this can be a combination of people trying to download more than one hour at a time which slows down their individual connection which then results in a time out of the download so an incomplete file shows up on your server ..
or people are trying to download while listening or streaming other things which also slows down their download..
if it takes more than one hour to download each mp3, you can be sure it will time out

in recent times the show has been featured on several websites as well as in the iTunes featured music podcast section in the iTunes store so we're getting hit by more and more listeners and downloaders.

that means more and more people download from the server at the same time which also results in the downloads slowing down and eventually timing out. I would have to increase the server resources but I am already paying us$150 / month out of my own pocket ( trust me, I wish those few ads would pay for that but they're so useless that I'll take them down with the next redesign of the site ).

any donation would help and if I see the majority of the costs covered, I can blow up the resources! Plus you can help keeping this show free for you and everyone else.

i agree guys lets donate, this is not helping? the servers cant manage the traffic, a bigger and faster server will do.
