Ak'u jeng hantle ma'an, llek!
There is a Vedic expression, “If our digestion is strong, our body can turn poison into nectar. But if our digestion is weak, the body can turn nectar into poison”.
This digestive fire that burns within every living being is called ‘agni’. An ‘agni’ that burns strong, leads to a feeling of satisfaction and contentment.
To achieve this level of happiness and health, there are some basic eating guidelines laid out by Ayurveda:
- Eat in a calm and quiet atmosphere
- Eat at a moderate speed. Do not rush or linger over food
- Stop eating BEFORE you are full
- Eat when you are hungry
- Allow 3-6 hours between meals for digestion
